Our firm is local and developed as it is today from the merging of two local accounting practices in 1970 to form Gowland, Strealy, Morales & Company, PLLC.  All of the partners have practiced accounting in Corpus Christi for many years with Dudley Gowland going back to 1941.  Mr. Gowland retired in 2001 and now lives in San Antonio.  Because of our firm’s stability over the years and being local, we feel we can be responsive to your needs and supply consistent personnel to your work.

We are also a member of The Southern and Western Accounting Group, Inc. (SWAG) which is an association of Certified Public Accounting firms brought together by common goals -- the attainment of and recognition for the highest possible professional stature.  The membership of SWAG is comprised of local firms who, through association, seek to achieve the benefits of a larger group or firm without encroaching upon the autonomy of any individual member.  SWAG provides programs and services for local firms not otherwise available within the professional societies of state, national or international scope.

Commitment to Quality

The single most important factor in our firm's success over the past thirty years has been our uncompromising commitment to the highest standards of quality and professionalism.  Providing quality service to our clients is our primary objective, and we have developed review procedures and communications that ensure the highest standards of performance.

Gowland, Strealy, Morales & Company, PLLC was one of the first local firms to join the Private Companies Practice Section of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.  We have had unqualified peer reviews in 1981, 1984, 1987, 1990, 1993, 1996, 1999, 2002 and 2005.  This indicates we are willing to submit our practice to a regular peer review by members of the AICPA and that we are willing to document our compliance with quality control standards established by the AICPA.  We have also undergone quality reviews of by the Texas Education Agency and the Texas Department of Human Services as mandated by the Single Audit Act of 1984.  The audits selected for review were accepted without change.
